Roush Yates Performance Products Partners with CARS Tour for 2015

Cars TourMooresville, NC. March 27, 2015. Roush Yates Performance Products would like to announce its partnership with the newly formed CARS Tour for 2015. The two divisions sanctioned under the CARS Tour umbrella will host 10 races in Virginia and the Carolina’s.

“It means a lot to be able to continue a relationship with a company like Roush Yates Performance Products.” said Chris Ragle Series Promoter, “With their ability to offer the short track racer both new and used parts makes them a logical partner with the CARS Tour.”

Roush Yates Performance Products will be presenting multiple contingency awards in both CARS Tour divisions. The awards will be distributed to support racers throughout the field.

“Roush Yates is excited to be a part of such a unique new tour with CARS,” said Jeff Clark, VP of Sales at Roush Yates. “The CARS Tour Media Day we hosted on March 11th was an overwhelming success and showed how much support this series has from teams and drivers. We’re glad to a part of their inaugural season.”

The CARS Tour is comprised of two divisions, a super late model and late model stock. The premier division of short track pavement racing is the super late models which features 650+ horsepower engines and chassis that weigh 2750lbs.  The rules for this division are similar across the US and Canada which means teams can race anywhere at any time.

The CARS late model stock division will also be touring with the super late models at all 10 races in 2015. The late model stock cars were born right here in the Carolinas as a headliner class for the Mid-Atlantic States on a local and regional level. They utilize both crate and built engines and weigh in at 3100lbs. producing over 400 horsepower.

“No one else has ever done a regular touring series with two premier divisions on a regular basis,” said Ragle. “It’s like running the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars and Late Models on the same night at the same track for one low price. The idea to run two divisions was the brainchild of Jack McNelly and myself.”

The first event for the CARS Tour is this weekend at Southern Nationals Motorsports Park in Kenly, NC.  Qualifying begins Saturday at 5pm and racing action at 7:15pm.
